Hugh Dubberly is a partner in Dubberly Design Office; the firm specializes in software, services, and systems — and how they might be modeled. Much of the practice is focused on complex adaptive systems that support health and well-being. In 2018, he was made an AIGA Fellow. In 2012, he was elected to the ACM CHI Academy. At Netscape in the late 1990s, he became Vice President of Design with responsibility for Netscape’s web presence. At Apple in the late 1980s, he managed graphic design and corporate identity and created the technology-forecast film “Knowledge Navigator,” presaging the internet and interaction via mobile devices. His research and writing focus on systems, models, design theory, and design methods.
