Other Fabrication Spaces

Jacobs Hall is part of a diverse campus network of spaces for tinkering, prototyping, and fabrication. A Maker Pass provides access not just to Jacobs Hall’s four floors of studios and labs, but also to the CITRIS Invention Lab. Elsewhere on campus, a variety of labs and shops provide specialized resources and other opportunities.

Berkeley spaces for making open to ALL students:

• Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation Makerspace (Jacobs Hall)
• CITRIS Invention Lab (Sutardja Dai Hall)
• Cory Student Workshop (Cory Hall)
• Supernode (Cory Hall)
• UC Berkeley Library Makerspace (Doe Library) – undergrads only
• Berkeley Art Studio (MLK Jr. Building ASUC Student Union) – public can take classes too!

Berkeley spaces for making open only to students taking courses and/or majoring within that department:

• Mechanical Engineering Student Machine Shop (Etcheverry Hall)
• College of Environmental Design Fabrication Lab (Bauer Wurster Hall)
• Art Practice Ceramics Studio (Bauer Wurster Hall)
• Sculpture Lab (Anthropology and Art Practice Bldg)
• Civil & Environmental Engineering Structures Laboratory (Davis Hall)
