Join us to learn more about the student resources available here, meet our team, and connect with other new and returning members of the Jacobs community.

As part of Golden Bear Orientation (GBO), the Campus Resource Fair exists to help new students become acquainted with the many helpful resources, opportunities, and offices within Cal. Find the Jacobs table at the fair to meet our staff and get answers to your burning questions.
Sunday 8/25 and Monday 8/26 | 10AM-4PM
This two-day interactive festival introduces Cal students to brands aligned with the Cal lifestyle. You’ll find the Jacobs table in the Arts District of the event, alongside other campus groups offering great arts and design resources.
Tuesday 8/27 | 2-4PM
If you are interested in joining the vibrant community of makers, designers, and tinkers at UC Berkeley, then join our campus makerspace crawl! The crawl will start at the Jacobs Hall makerspace and continue on to other campus spaces that are accessible to all Cal students: Supernode, Cory Student Shop, CITRIS Invention Lab, and the Moffitt Makerspace. Get to know the unique resources at each location and learn how you can be a part of the campus’s rich ecosystem of hands-on making. Bring your curiosity and comfortable walking shoes. Meet outside of the west entrance of Jacobs Hall.

First three Fridays of the semester (8/30, 9/6*, 9/13) | 12-12:30PM and 4-4:30pm
Jacobs Hall offers Berkeley students a range of hands-on resources for learning about design and technology, including courses, events, student groups,mentorship, and an expansive makerspace. Take a guided tour of our makerspace and teaching studios to learn more about these resources and the vibrant, interdisciplinary student community that you can join here. Tours meet in the west lobby of Jacobs Hall, start at 10 minutes past the hour (“Berkeley time”), and are offered on a drop-in basis; no need to RSVP in advance.
* There is no noon tour on Friday 9/6 due to the Design Conversations talk with Mario Ballestreros on that day.
Friday, 9/6 | 4-7PM
Drop by the all-purpose makerspace on the first floor of Jacobs Hall to meet the Jacobs design specialists, student supervisors, and other members of our community. We will have equipment demos, raffles and giveaways, student and staff projects demos, building tours, snacks, and more. See you there!
