On Friday, August 9th, the Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation summer community will gather to celebrate the accomplishments of our 2024 Berkeley Engineering Design Scholars as well as the students in Fabrication and Prototyping (DES INV 22).
From 10 am to noon, the DES INV 22 students will demonstrate their final builds—a uniquely conceived and fabricated remote control vehicle—and navigate their way through instructor Chris Myers’ famous obstacle-ridden course.
And then from 1 – 2 PM, the Engineering Design Scholars will showcase their summer prototypes and research. Topics for this cohort range across computational design, machine learning, materials science, and biomedical engineering.
This semesterly open house is a fabulous opportunity to converse with student designers and join in on Jacobs Hall’s interdisciplinary design community. All are welcome to attend — the showcase is free and open to the public!
