Join a workshop or field trip at Jacobs Hall this fall

Rich learning experiences abound at Jacobs Hall, both inside and outside of the teaching studio. Read below about some of the extracurricular opportunities for students to explore design and technology this semester.

POP-UP WORKSHOPS

You are invited to join the many pop-up workshops offered by different members of the talented Jacobs community, from our lecturers to student clubs. The workshops cover a wide range of topics, but all are free, open to all Cal students, and provide fun, low-key opportunities for you to develop new skills and meet other members of our community.

Workshops are posted on the Jacobs Facebook page. We will continue to add to the workshop lineup throughout the semester, so keep your eyes on Facebook or the Jacobs student mailing list for future additions.

Maker Pass holders: in addition to these workshops open to the general community, you can also sign up for workshops for Maker Pass holders.

If you have questions or suggestions–or are interested in teaching a workshop yourself–please contact Amy Dinh.

DESIGN FIELD TRIPS

The Jacobs Design Field Trips give students the chance to visit sites at the cutting edge of design and technology innovation and learn about avenues for continuing their design practice beyond Berkeley.

Design Field Trips are open to all Berkeley students and free, though students will arrange their own transportation, unless otherwise specified. Go here to register for field trips; registration opens roughly two weeks prior to each trip.
